3rd Trimester...is here!!

3rd trimester 28 weeks - birth (40 weeks)

CRAVINGS ~

1. Chocolate
2. Salty cheese crackers
But mostly sweets. I craved a lot of sweets in the beginning of this trimester.  I craved so much that I was afraid I was going to be delivering a big baby! I would say that chocolate was a craving through this whole trimester.

28 weeks: Baby is the size of an eggplant!!
Baby also already weighs 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 pounds!

29 weeks: Baby is the size of a acorn squash

30 weeks: Baby is the size of a cucumber
I've started feeling baby Hoehamer have the hiccups.

31 weeks: Baby is the size of a pineapple
Baby also now has all of his senses.
Looking forward to seeing our little one!

32 weeks: Baby is the size of a squash.
This week baby flipped to the upside down position!! So excited that means we are getting even closer.

33 weeks: Baby is the size of a durian fruit, which I had no clue what this was so I looked it up.  Apparently it is grown in Southeast Asia and grows on trees.

34 weeks: Baby is the size of a butternut squash.  Baby is about 17 to 18 in long and weighs between 4 and 5 lbs!  Can't believe that in only 6 weeks baby Hoehamer will be here!

35 weeks: Baby is the size of a coconut!  Baby's hearing is completely developed.

36 weeks: Baby is the size of a honeydew. Baby Hoehamer's liver and kidneys are now in working order.

37 weeks:  Baby is the size of a winter melon. Baby measures about 18 to 20 inches and weights between 6 to 9 lbs.  Here's hoping for a 7 pound baby!  But, baby is growing up to 1/2 an ounce a day.

38 weeks:  Baby is the size of a pumpkin.
If I could plan it, I would have baby come after this weekend! Here's hoping to baby coming sooner rather than later!!

Also we had to have a 2nd ultra sound for my ankle because they were afraid I might have a blood clot, which luckily I didn't.  But, we were able to try again and see what we were having.
IT'S A GIRL!!!!
Only 2 weeks to go until we get to see her!!

We didn't make it past 38 weeks.  Baby was born just after 38 weeks.  I will be posting about baby shortly.
SO HAPPY SHE IS HERE!!!

1st house = 2nd year

So we have now been living in our house for 2 years. It seems like we just bought it!  I feel like a lot has happened this year...

2012

April ~
1. Replace the roof.
2. We also worked on beautifying our backyard by buying and planting some hostas.
May ~
1. Bryant, Cassie & Nate came to visit for Tulip Festival & to take photos.
2. Added a compost to my garden.
3. This month was also one of our bigger and unexpected projects.  We went to Qulin, MO for my mom's side family reunion.  While we were gone, Hull was hit by a massive storm.  We ended up coming home to a basement with a couple of inches of water in it.  It actually was a blessing in disguise, we found some mold under the carpet.  So we ended up stripping the carpet and painting the cement floor, buying a couple of area rugs and calling it good.
June ~
1. Took the old screen windows in our basement and re-purposed them as our garden fence.  No more rabbits in our garden!
July ~
1. We went to SOUTH AFRICA....not much got done at the house :)
2. We did start remodeling on the main floor bath.
August ~
1. Finished the main floor bath re-model.  New shower, new floor, and fresh coat of paint!
September ~

1. Found out we were going to be having our first baby!
October ~
1. Matt's parents visited with Mike and Carol.  We were able to tell them in person about the baby!
November ~
1. JUST EXCITED ABOUT BABY!
2. Matt worked on the baby room floor.  Planned on sanding it down and re-staining it, but that didn't work so well.
December ~
1. Matt worked on the baby room floor.  Planned on sanding it down and re-staining it, but that didn't work so well.

2013

January ~
1. Started on the baby room.  Matt's parents came to visit and help with the floor and baseboards. Doesn't sound like it was a lot, but if you look at the post you will see how much was really done.  A lot had to do with re-framing the baseboard on one side, due to the floor rising up.  Plus painted the floor, baseboards and wall.
February ~
1. My parents visited and brought up the baby room furniture.
March ~
1. Painted the baby room wall design...chevron stripes, I'm so excited that we were able to get them done!
April ~
1. Baby room design touch-ups...added the bedding and other items from my shower to the room.
2. ICE/SNOW STORM...YEP, in APRIL we had a ICE/SNOW STORM. We ended up having all four trees in our yard lose tree limbs....big ones!  Luckily nothing was damaged on the house, but that was something we weren't expecting this month.

DAY TWO

This is the front yard.  We had another massive branch that fell after the addition of the snow in the middle of the night.

We even had a little bit fall from our smaller tree.  However, as I type this a big part of the tree fell off and blocked our alleyway.

The backyard did not get away this time.  Our tree in the back couldn't take the weigh of the snow and ice and finally broke off.

This one finally did fall this afternoon.  Crazy how long it held on.  The one that's on the roof is still holding on just barely.  I bet it will fall pretty soon too.

ICE STORM...in APRIL

April 9th, we had thunderstorms all day.  By the end of the day it turned into an ice storm.  We woke up early to some tree branches falling.  When we got up this is what we found in our front yard.  Luckily, the only thing damaged was that the gutter got bent.

Our tree on the side of the house has two big branches that are just hanging by bark.  They will be falling soon, we hope.

Final touches

The Bedding that completed the inspiration.

I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. these shelves with the baskets.

Diane made this BEAUTIFUL chalkboard for the baby room.  I'm so excited to have it and be able to write messages to my little one!
